Nominations Open for Stage 4 of the CPSU SPSF Group Victorian Branch Election

Updated 06/10/2025

On Monday 29 September, the AEC opened nominations for Stage 4* of the CPSU SPSF Group Victorian Branch election for 2025. The full details of this election can be found here, on the AEC’s website.

This election will determine the holders of two of the federal offices in the federated structure of the State Public Services Federation Group, in the following order:

  • Branch Representative to Federal Executive (1 position), and
  • Federal Council Delegate from Victorian Branch (4 positions).

Federal Executive and Federal Council are similar to Victorian Branch Executive and Victorian Branch Council but oversee the administration, finances, and governance of the whole SPSF Group; the federated structure of the 6 Branches.

Under the Chapter C rules of the CPSU SPSF Group, only the 39 members of Branch Council are eligible to nominate for these positions and to vote in the election.

Nominations will close at 2pm on Monday 13 October, and if a ballot is required, it will be conducted by the AEC immediately afterwards at the meeting of Victorian Branch Council scheduled for the same time and day. If a ballot is required, due to provisions for absentee ballots, the result – which will be posted on this website – may be declared as late as 6 November 2025.

* Note that while the AEC documents refer to this as Stage 2, it is properly considered to be Stage 4 under Rule 15 of the Chapter C rules of the SPSF Group.
