AEC's post-election report for the CPSU 2025 election, and the Branch's response to that report

Updated 26/11/2025

On 11 November 2025, the AEC provided the Branch with a copy of their post-election report prepared under Section 197 of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (The RO Act). This report identified one rule that was difficult to apply, namely the prescribed window of 10-days within which members of the Stage 2 collegiate election of Federal Council Delegates voting via absentee ballot have to return their ballot papers (Rule 37.3).

Under Section 198 of the RO Act, The Branch is required to respond to the AEC within 30 days of receiving that report, outlining what action the Branch proposes to take to address that difficultly. On 26 November 2025, the Branch sent that response to the AEC, noting that the SPSF Group will amend the Chapter C rules to fix this deficiency by or before 31 December 2026.

Members are free to contact the Branch by emailing enquiry@cpsuvic.org if they would like any further information about any aspect of our elections.
