During this meeting CPSU was informed of HR’s decision to terminate 10 EFT fixed term staff members. Their justification was that new business imperatives must be met, that NSW has approximately 20 EFT positions over the profile and that this action is ‘the only viable one in view of the unsustainable nature of the current circumstances’. CPSU requested that AMES put in writing to CPSU their stated redundancy objectives. We received this letter on 11 March 2009. Please click here to view this document; http://www.cpsuvic.org/public_docs/AMES-1003-NSW-StaffProfile.pdf Members informed CPSU that AMES began terminating positions with the support of the union. CPSU does not ‘fully support’ or endorse these redundancies and contacted HR in relation to such allegations. Under Clause 10 of your 2008-2010 Staff Agreement, AMES is obligated to inform affected employees and or their nominated representative (being CPSU) of any changes to people’s work conditions. On Friday, CPSU requested that HR provide us with the names of those who at risk of being made redundant. Our request was denied by Robin Allen who cited privacy issues. Concerned and affected members are urged to contact CPSU Organiser Nos Hosseini on (03) 9413 6628 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
