CPSU has been advised that by now DEECD will have • sent an Agreement Implementation Guide to every Principal • arranged payment of payrises and lump sums to Education Support staff • re-written letters of offer for new and existing staff. Last year ended on a high with our Agreement successfully extended and varied to include a great pay rise, lump sum adjustments, a more equitable classification structure, accompanied by more useful and clearer job descriptors. CPSU WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU IF: • you have previously been receiving the Medical Intervention Allowance, and have not been automatically translated to ES1-2 • you are doing technical work and have not been translated to ES1-2 • you were an SSO 2-3, were about to advance and have been denied a range review to ES2-6 (without advertisement). Log on to our website at www.cpsuvic.org and read the advice there. This strictly ‘members only’ facility will assist you through the process. Let CPSU know if there is no agreed consultation process specifically for Education Support Class at your school. Agreed consultative processes must be established, or a default position will be implemented. CONGRATULATIONS A big round of applause to all the TORCHBEARERS who passed on information, arranged meetings, and gave important feedback throughout the Agreement negotiations. Focus groups and representatives were vital, and CPSU thanks you on behalf of your fellow members. GIVE A COLLEAGUE A MEMBERSHIP FORM AND ASK THEM TO JOIN!
We often have staff contacting us directly for a membership form, saying that no-one at their school had ever invited them to join the Union. http://www.cpsuvic.org/public_docs/memform.pdf KAREN BATT CPSU Victorian Branch Secretary 9 February 2009 |
