INITIAL 5 DAY OH&S TRAINING COURSE FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REPS –All elected HSR’s and Deputies should enrol in this course. It covers your rights as well as up to date information on emerging OHS issues as is the OH&S Act, how it can be used to improve workplace H&S and conditions, along with bullying & violence, legislation. Communication and negotiation skills are also covered.
The Cost involved for this course is for members $700 & non-members $800 incl GST. COURSE COSTS ARE BORNE BY YOUR DEPARTMENT and 14 DAYS NOTICE must be given to your Employer to facilitate your paid leave to attend. HSR’s and Deputies are able to choose their course and CPSU suggests you attend this WORKSAFE APPROVED COURSE.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY 1 DAY REPS REFRESHER COURSE –All HSR’s who have attended the Initial 5 Day OH&S training course are entitled to attend a one day refresher course each year of their term of office.

This course covers the latest developments in relation to Workplace Bullying, Occupational Violence and other Stress related preventative strategies covering workloads and the lack of job control. It includes the latest information being developed by WorkSafe and nationally seeking to develop preventative strategies on psychological health hazards. - CPSU members are entitled to paid time release from EBA entitlements.
